Written for Julius Baker, the composer's flute teacher at Juilliard, Airborne is one of Schocker's most widely appreciated works. It is a difficult but approachable work perfect as a lighter recital palette cleanser. Airborne was included in I Solisti Italiani's 1993 tour with the composer as soloist.
