I have arranged these Lenten hymns for solo flute with the following in mind:
+ Lent is a season of repentance where we prepare for the triumph of Easter.  Sometimes
simplicity is best.  I endeavored to be creative without including passages that are flashy or
virtuosic.  We play for His glory and not our own.
+ Each hymn expresses biblical truth and has been tested by time.  They are suitable for corporate worship, small group settings, and private devotions.
+ They should be accessible for amateur and professional flutists alike.
